Title: Members that have not posted
Post by: The Twins on July 08, 2010, 09:30:16 PM
You have signed up to our forums and have not posted. Please go to the following link
http://retrocomputermuseum.co.uk/forum/index.php?board=16.0  and introduce yourself. We do not need your life story, just a few lines on who you are and how you found us, along with anything else you would like to share.

If you do not do this within by 16th July  your account may be deleted. This may seem harsh, but thems the rules!!!!

And then goes on to say "YOU HAVE SIGNED UP TO OUR FORUMS AND HAVE NOT POSTED" and then "IF YOU DO NOT DO THIS WITHIN BY 16TH JULY YOUR ACCOUNT MAY BE DELETED"

A bit of bad grammar there too methinks  ::)

Nice one PubZombie! and jdanddiet! ;)

It is mainly for any people that have NEVER posted and new members so that they can introduce themselves - it is always good to see where/how they found us, where they live etc. . . .

Apologies to the genuine members who have posted. Good to see some old faces though!

Andy

Hi I saw RCM on the news - the reason for joining: I have been trying to get a Votrax Type n talk to work for about 4 years!!! - it switches on saying 'system ready' - I'm hoping someone might be able to help me get it to work.

There are a lot of people that do that, maybe deletion should be if a person has not logged on for a certain amount of time, not on the number of posts they have made

Yes or a mixture of the both!  Theres a friendship site I go to and if you don't log on within 6 months they delete your account which is fair I think 6 months is long enough and accounts for most geniune reasons why someone might disappear completely.

Sorry again all

As Andy has said - there was a technical issue and the email got sent to all users, some multiple times, not just those it was intended for.

Thank's

Karl

I've been getting them sorts of users on the Barcode Universe forum for a while. I delete them if they don't post anything within 48 hours, or sooner if they have adverts in their sig.
