Title: Rink's Collection
Post by: Rink on July 04, 2012, 10:36:30 AM
This is probably my favourite area of the forum so I thought I'd post my inventory; although I suspect I might be the only person here trying NOT to collect stuff. Most of them have been acquired over quite a few years and I really try to avoid buying new items (there are exceptions)... but the temptation is too great.

Apple
Apple //e (How do I love thee? Let me count the ways...)
Apple iMac G5 (20", 2GB RAM, 500GB HDD)

Bandai
Wonderswan + Wonderwitch Development Kit

Commodore
Commodore C16 (in pieces)
Commodore Amiga 1200 (4GB Compact Flash "HDD")

Dragon Data Ltd.
Dragon 32
Dragon 32 (couldn't resist when a second one went for cheap on eBay)
Dragon 64
Dragon 200 (found my unicorn)

Microsoft
Microsoft XBOX
Microsoft XBOX 360 Elite
Microsoft XBOX 360 Slim (hardly retro)

Milton Bradley
Microvision + Shooting Star (donated)

Nintendo
Nintendo NES (not currently working - after I "improved" it)
Nintendo Gameboy (Mk1)
Nintendo Super NES
Nintendo 64
Nintendo Gameboy Colour
Nintendo Gameboy Advance (JAP)
Nintendo Gamecube + Gameboy Player
Nintendo Gamecube (No. 2)
Nintendo DS (JAP)
Nintendo Wii (+ soft mod)
Nintendo 3DS

Sega
Sega Megadrive
Sega Dreamcast

Sharp
Sharp X1 CZ-803C
Sharp X1 Twin CZ-830C (X1 + PC Engine)
Sharp CZ-81EB (I/O Expansion Box)

Sinclair
Sinclair ZX81 + 16K Expansion + ZX81SCP Mod
Sinclair ZX81 + 16K Expansion + ZX81SCP Mod
Sinclair ZX81 (back for repair/upgrade)

SNK
Neo Geo Pocket Colour

Sony
Sony Playstation
Sony Playstation (chipped)
Sony Playstation2

Toshiba
HX-10 MSX 64K
HX-10 MSX 64K (needs repair)

Also got a few LCD video games and am slowly building a collection of all the Addams Family titles on all formats.

Now... what I said about not buying things - that obviously doesn't apply to the intended purchases of an Acorn Electron (my first computer), Amiga 500 (mine was traded for the 1200 when I was a kid - bad call) and Dragon 200 (hell will freeze over before I find one of these though).

Small update: added a 4GB Compact Flash card internally as a hard disk to my Amiga 1200 (thought I'd list it on here) and bought an MSX not too long ago. Couple of video problems there but hey...

CF in an A1200 is always a worthwhile addition  :)

Yeah I'm pretty happy. Took a bit longer to get working than I expected (no fault of the £1.40 cf -> ide adapter from DealExtreme :)) but most of that was down to it being a *very* long time since I last had to deal with a hard drive on an Amiga.

Yeah,

I needed some help with mine, in fact it still won't boot directly to the HDD/CF, I have to hold the mouse buttons on switch on otherwise it goes to the normal waiting for a floppy screen due to an issue with Roms  :-\

That's normal for KS3.0 - live with it or get KS3.1 ROMS

Can't just be a rom issue as mine has 3.0 roms and it boots fine . . . :(

You are not alone, I rejigged my toy room over the weekend and freed up some display shelf space, have already filled the slots with items on the wish list, damn you ebay!

Now I am full again so will have to reapply the brakes.

Lol. It's got to the stage I'm now having to build my own shelving units to fit all the crap in.

However, I have just shed one item (which makes a nice change). The Microvision console that I've been promising RCM since I first met them actually made it into the post last week.

Finally finished repairing and modding ZX81s so I've returned two of them to their rightful owner (after the best part of a year).

Sad to see them go since i'm now left with only one.

It's your fault that I've been trying to find one for a year and have paid far too much to eventually acquire it. Ever since I saw the RCM one, I couldn't get it out of my head. :)

Weirdly, it's almost/around a year since we visited you and I saw the thing for the first time in person. And here we are, on the anniversary of that visit and I finally take delivery of my own.

Will do mate, thank you.

There's a strong chance I'll be heading to Revival.

Thanks to a mate's wife throwing a right ol' wobbly about stuff being in the loft, I've now gained a few extra items. :)

Got another Playstation, an Xbox, and an Xbox 360 Elite.

A couple of welcome additions to the collection lately; the highlights being a Sharp CZ-81EB expansion box and a Sharp X1 Twin (X1+PC Engine).

Sharp X1 Twin, very nice :) If I remember rightly that has some greater shooters including the original Thunderforce.

The massive box that arrived today from Japan means only one thing: a new old computer to play with. :D

In it, a Sharp X1 CZ-803C in radiant silver. And the best bit, it's boxed with all the bumpf (only a small sticker missing). I'd never even seen a Sharp X1 box before so I'm not sure whether I'm more excited by the packaging or the machine.
