Title: ZX80 on ebay, strange mod ?
Post by: Panther on May 13, 2014, 01:10:58 PM
Spotted this on ebay, noting special at first glance;

Modified ZX80 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SINCLAIR-ZX80-main-board-motherboard-from-a-personal-computer-/221436855006?pt=UK_VG_Replacement_Parts_Tools&hash=item338eaa42de)

Just wondered what the additional board was, Extra RAM ??

If memory serves it's a NMI (non-maskable interrupt) board that allows it to run like a zx81.

I'm with Moggy on that, certainly looking at were those wires are connected around the video sync circuitry.
