Title: Unexpected Christmas Gift!
Post by: MiniMort on December 25, 2017, 09:26:15 PM
Merry Christmas, everyone!

So, this morning my family were round and my Uncle told me to leave a large present to the end. To cut a long story short the gift was... AN ACORN ELECTRON! And not only that, but my Uncles Acorn Electron which he got as a kid, in 1985. It’s boxed, with cassette deck, user manual, various tapes - hell, even the receipt from Dixon’s (£130).

So I’ve spent a large portion of the day trying to load cassettes which haven’t been played for 30 years, on a tape deck which haven’t been played in 30 years, on a computer which hasn’t been played for 30 years... so it went well...

Everything’s in order but the tape deck head will need cleaning before reliably being able to play Repton but this gift caught me off guard!

Merry Christmas, all
