Zetr0,
I have one of those too - wicked bit of kit . . . the easter eggs are cool - hidden gems!!! LOL!
How many more of them do they have do you know? Just wondering whether or not to get a few more for the museum?
Would be good to plug a couple in and go head to head on different tvs?

one other thing - i can also plug my ipod into it as well - and watch films from there - although the screen size is very similar anyway - point? because I can!!!

Andy

Did I also mention that I can load games into my Speccy and ZX81 from my ipod? Well I have now!!!
Obviously loads in realtime (slow as f!@k) as a cassette would but still, digital signal, no R Tape Loading Errors . . . hopefully!!!

Recently borrowed a couple of old tapes from one of my uncles (Hello Roy!) that had his old programs on, some stuff he did on his ZX81 in Z80 machine code, the one I wanted was a full screen running man!

I successfully captured a .WAV file and it worked on an emulator on my PC! So . . .
I then copied the file onto my Ipod, plugged the Ipod into my ZX81 and hey ho - it worked . . . :)

Also done this with some .WAV and .MP3 files i found for the spectrum, a couple of really old games . . .
but again, they both loaded fine from my ipod! I guess you could also put them onto audio cd/mp3 cd and play them in from a cd player as well . . . the mind boggles, we could all go out and buy cd walkmans and use them to load games instead of tape recorders! lol!

Sorry I must be boring you all witless by now - I will sign off!

Cheers
Andy

I would try and avoid using MP3 files as the compression can cause errors. Stick to WAV or CDs if you can.

@DrewPee

A most humbled thank you for the pics..... Indeed PORTABLE C64... a wholesome bit of configury if ever there was a picture :D

and a CDROM drive for a spectrum.... theres something wholesome about that too!!!!

you think you could get around 18-22 tracks per CD? instant seek.... so i get the loading screen, sound and "R CD Loading Error" ;)

R CD Loading Error - what a thought!!!!!!!!

Change the ROM to an EPROM . . . to say that! Wow! That would be hot!

:)

Reading that list again sounds really bad.....don't know how the wife puts up with it (at least she likes playing Secret of Mana & Zelda on SNES and all Shining Force games on Mega Drive)

I remember the Xmas when I had just turned 11 and my parents got me the Oric 1......I wanted a spectrum like all my mates!!!

Did I have the micky taken out of me or what.

I learned to program in BASIC on it which go me no-where!!

I really want to go back to my dad's now, get it out storage and see if it still works and what games still loads.....

If it still works I'm happy to bring it to the Open Day but I don't think I can part with it!!!  Sentimental value and all that!

as you know I sold mine, but I keep finding stuff, in the backs of cupboards, behind sofas, in the loft.

I've still got a couple of megadrives I forgot about in a cupboard, I found them today.

I have just a working Acorn Electron.

Sold most of my collection off in the summer of 2005, after taking 5 years to amass it, it took over the house, and I didn't really fancy living in 1 room, also ebay sucks now, it had started to suck then, and I was trading less.

Let me see:

Atari 2600 Jr with rainbow stripe
C64
Amstrad CPC
NES
Gameboy
Gameboy Pocket
SNES
Gameboy Colo(u)r
Sega Multimega (MD/MCD combo) with Master System adapter
Sega Saturn
PS1
Gameboy Advance
Gameboy Advance SP
PS2
XBox (Crystal)
Gamecube with Gameboy Player
Nintendo DS
Wii

I'm thinking of selling my Saturn, as I hear an 8 player version of Bomberman is coming out for the Wii at some point, and I wanted the 10 player for the Saturn, but it's too rare, as are the accessories needed to play it.

oh yeah, I got one of them, nearly put it in the bin last night actually, it's in the "to be dealt with pile". don't think I've got all the leads though.

@THX1138,
You know me - spares are needed just as much as the machines themselves. Working or not - they can be used for exploded views etc. This goes for any machine to be honest. I would love spares of everything I have!

well I might bring it up on the bike, I might not, depends what else I'm upto luggage /onward journey wise

stuck two more Commodored LED 1970's calculators in the post to you btw.

Sorted another cupboard out last night. There is one more cupboard left to sort out, and then I'm fairly sure there is no more retro in the house. Though, I once found a games console behind the sofa, so who knows?

ooh ta. :)

I will actually use it too!

Like, I can work problems out in BASIC but never learned how to do anything else on modern computers, like how to use macros.

I could probably do stuff in EXCEL, but it's easier to just to fire BASIC up. :)

My 'coming soon' systems:

Sharp Famicom Twin (the bright red version!)

Oh, and I also have a MAME cabinet (converted from JAMMA) and a Taito Ground Effects arcade cabinet that is awaiting conversion to a MAME driving cab. And a bunch of those plug and play TV games.

Games-wise I am fast approaching a grand total of 1000 games across all the above systems. I particularly like Japanese weirdness, shmups and platformers and my speciality is anything to do with Bubble Bobble, as you can see on the following link if you wish:
