Well that was a barrel of laughs and so nice to see the old gang again. Sadly, there was few faces missing to complete a full deck but I'm sure, as Andy has mentioned, they'll be plenty more of these gatherings to come.

Hats off to the Andy  and co. for an amazing evening and yes, the chilli is still awesome.

Also...Pong still rocks in the company of such fine friends.

Help me obiwan.....

I think there's a slight error on my order. I was original down for x1 Super Everdrive and x1  Everdrive MD but it looks like ED64 has been added by mistake?

*edit - oh wait, just seen the closing date, does that mean i'm stuffed?

So tempting to go for the N8 <counting beans>...will have a think on that one.

GENERAL RETRO CHIT CHAT / Amstrad CPC - Scart
« on: October 10, 2013, 12:53:15 PM »
Long time no post!

I've been toying with the idea of getting myself a CPC 464 or something similar to mess around with some of the stuff circulating around the homebrew scene. I don't really want the bulk of yet another monitor on the geek desk therefore was wondering (if anyone uses these) what kind of results folk were getting  with a Scart lead conversion or similar - plus any recommendations of where to get one from - I'd usually go to Retro Gaming Shack or Dr Phu's Super emporium of good stuff.

Also, if anyone does have a spare 464 gathering dust, that they'd like to sell, please could you let me know?

Many thanks

StiGGy

I might be wrong but i think there's limited support even on the iPad apps. Predominately it's for use with Atari's own 99 in one games pack which is actually rather cool as the Atari 2600 & Arcade classics  have been modded for touchscreen and shock/horror, they actually did a good job of it. I'm pretty sure you can't use this with Mame variants  or all the other iCade SDK friendly apps.....but for that price, bit of a bargain for ios owning Atari fans.

Had a look at some of Flicky's revival mag collection during one of the homebrew weekends at the Lass and was highly impressed by the quality. Always meant to take another look so thanks for the reminder.

Been playing this a lot just lately, what a great game. Always a nice feeling to be playing  something brand new on something as old as a Speccy.

GAMING . . . / Outrun at 60fps
« on: December 23, 2012, 01:14:52 PM »
New game engine for running Outrun at 60fps called Cannonball.

Got this running up on my projector this afternoon, looks flipping awesome, especially when you downgrade to the original 30fps to see what the difference is.

http://reassembler.blogspot.co.uk/p/cannonball-open-source-outrun-engine.html

You'll need Outrun revision B roms (plus epr-10381a.132 from Revision A) - or rename the epr-10381b.132)
