Also, make sure you aren't programming the security bit or it can't verify.
May sound obvious but it does happen.
Failing that then I agree your programmer may just not like them

I was wondering if I could send you the original PAL from the board I have here, I tried writing the bootleg PAL from your site and it didn't work for me, but I am highly suspicious of my ability to actually write PALs. Even though the Wellon VP-280 claims to have the power I have never been able to successfully write a single one, they either fail half way through, or fail the verify step. It is a Ricoh EPL16RP4BP chip which is a type I have never seen before, and one the Wellon doesn't support, so I can't even see if it is unprotected. :(

Its possible that the bootleg one is identical and I just don't end up with a correctly written chip to test.

Were you writing to a GAL16V8 device? This is the chip we try and convert them all to so they are usable but 99% of people.
Feel free to send me any you want. the EPL16RP4 is Ricoh's version of a PAL16R4 which means that its a registered device and will probably require manual reversing if it is not unlocked.
I build some hardware a while back that lets me manually toggle all pins from a GUI so I can see the responses. This is how I reverse any registered devices I find although success isn't guaranteed.

That was an amazing read. Really well done

For the record I have over 800 PAL dumps on my website although only have bootleg Terraforce dumps on there right now.
If you ever come across any please send them over.

The ones I used to get are also no longer available. You could always give the EPROM method a go

Last one I saw for sale was over £350. They seem to sell at whatever price people ask for them too.
Too rich for me though.

Think your gonna have to get in line for one of these. They are extremely hard to find and even harder to find at a decent price.
