Just found this by accident (as most things seem to be found on Wikipedia !)

A good comparison of the colour/graphic modes across a range of 8 bit machines.

FOR SALE / WANTED / FOR SALE : Amiga A1200 Blizzard 1220/4 Ram Expansion
« on: August 18, 2015, 11:56:39 AM »
I've recently managed to upgrade my A1200 to an 030 accellerator, and therefore have my 4 meg Ram Expansion for sale.

This is ideal for WHDload and allows you to run a vast amount of software from an appropriate Amiga HDD or CF card.

As far as I can tell this can also be upgraded to an accelerator when the appropriate 68882 FPU and crystal is fitted.

I believe the parts needed are these ;

Crystal
FPU

Although you would have to check to ensure these are OK.

Looking for offers around £95 including postage (UK mainland)

A bit weird seeing 'Sony Playstation' on a Nintendo style controller.

GENERAL RETRO CHIT CHAT / Mike Oldfield
« on: May 12, 2015, 04:45:57 PM »
Just been listening to Steve Wright chat to Mike Oldfield, so looked up Tubular Bells on wikipedia and found the following;

Computer games

Commodore 64

With the aid of the software house CRL and distributor Nu Wave, Mike Oldfield released an interactive Commodore 64 version of the album in 1986, which used the computer's SID sound chip to play back a simplified re-arrangement of the album, accompanied by some simple 2D visual effects.

The "interactivity" offered by the album/program was limited to controlling the speed and quantity of the visual effects, tuning the sound's volume and filtering, and skipping to any part of the album.

Never knew that !!

GAMING . . . / Unreleased C64 game
« on: November 26, 2014, 03:34:15 PM »
There's been a few different one knocking about over the years, and this was a game developed by RARE (those of Ultimate fame), originally released on the NES, Solar Jetman was another installment in the Jetpac/Lunar Jetman series. It was originally announced that it would also be available for the Amiga, Atari ST, C64 and Speccy, but these were dropped due to poor sales on the NES, but a working copy has since been found on the C64. I haven't personally tried this, watching the videos on Youtube it looks so much like Thrust I am surprised there weren't lawsuits  ;)

Anyways here's a link to see more details Solar Jetman

I'll try a direct link to the download HERE

Perhaps Andy can get this running on the RCM C64, Enjoy !!
