HI everyone, I've searched through the forum and Google, I can't seem to find anything similar to my faulty C64. So, Lemon 64 users, you're my only hope Wink

It's a black screen, so I dropped in a PLAnkton, thinking it might be a PLA issue, but that didn't cure it, the internal bridge rectifier was oscillating so I changed that, measured all the voltages and they are fine. All PSU's are fine and giving correct voltages. So I plugged in my dead test cart, still a blank screen, but SID was singing away nicely. Plugged in the datasette and pressed rewind, switched it back on and the rewind worked for about 5 seconds, then nothing. So I'm thinking it's possibly a bad Kernal rom? Unfortunately for me, only one CIA, the SID, VIC-II and PLA are socketed, and check out fine, so I could do with any suggestions before I socket and replace any other chips.

If you were wondering, 12.5 UK and 12.7 on the Euro plug version!

I'm just about to have a bash at making a diag264 cartridge for my C16's, just curious do C16 carts just use a generic 28pin dip, or do they have to be specific or based on technology of the mid 80's

Any advice is greatly appreciated 👍

Does anyone know off hand the AC output voltage of the C16's power supply transformer secondary, before it hits the bridge rectifier?

GENERAL RETRO CHIT CHAT / Amiga 500 revelation
« on: November 27, 2017, 12:04:47 PM »
After listening to David Pleasance's talk at the pre-Christmas do. He mentioned that a lot of Amiga 500's, actually contain 500+ boards, due to the high demand and lack of regular 500 boards.

So I'm guessing the only way to confirm which board is inside a 500 is by visual inspection only?

After watching the Amiga intro entries for Revision 2015, I'd love to have a crack at programming for the Amiga. Where would someone start? Any suggestions or advice to run for the hills instead? lol...

OFF TOPIC / Revision 2015
« on: April 06, 2015, 11:28:50 PM »
As I didn't get chance to go to the event at Swannington due to everything going breasts vertical at this end, sorry guys :'( I had to satisfy my nerdy needs with a solid weekend watching Revision 2015 on my smart TV. Anyone else get a chance to check it out? It was really above par. The only downside was the fact that I've left a dent in the sofa ;D

Womble, I'm becoming a big fan of your work. Loving the repair logs, beyond awesome mate!

I'm curious to know, what kit you use for desoldering? Very clean de-solders and work  ;D
