I'm not buying either but as I said on facebook, I've never in my whole life seen a company serve another's backside up on a plate to them like this:

And whilst I'm not a fan of Sony, I think it's hilarious.

I may consider the PS4 at some point in the future, but only when its down at sub £200, which is where I usually jump onto a console. Although since my current pc hardware is level with the PS4, and given the price you can currently get PC games for (humble bundle etc), even that's not terribly likely.

The xbox's "features" are shameful and wrong. And I hope the gaming community sticks it to them as a clear message. Sadly the most likely outcome here is that MS will water down all those horrid features to the point they become borderline acceptable, and they'll pull it off. Simcity style. Grr.  >:(

Give it a year and there will be a glut of them on the shelves of those "here for Xmas, gone by January" shops that pop up in the shopping centres from next Xmas because they didn't shift.  The year after that, they'll be in Poundland :)

looks a bit crap!
Good job too, if it looked good I'd be having nerd rage because these things never make it to android.

cheers guys - I tried lightworks first but it was being a pain, refusing to open mp4s on the grounds of licences, etc...

I'd heard bad things about windows movie maker so hadn't tried it, but it looks to do just what I want, figured out the basics on how to use it in about 8 minutes, bonus!  :)

Saw this and thought that might be useful for RCM, wonder if Phu or Jon could knock one of these up  ;)

doesnt look too tricky, and I'd estimate about 4-6 quid of parts. Although might be easier to give the guy £13 to save the effort of working out the values  ;D

Blimey I think this is the first post I've made, instead of just hijacking others'  :o ;D

Got myself on a product video making idea, but to be's one of the few things I haven't got a single clue about!
I have the ability to record to mp4, avi, 3gp or what have you, so that's not a problem. The problem is getting this sort of thing done, just simple stuff, no fancy effects:

1) getting a music track (that isnt illegal) and using it on a vid - I'm not into the "uh...HERROW...this is my nerd voice" approach to youtube videos lol
2) subtitles / titles / text narration???
3) just...general cut/editing

I know a few names of software but really...what's the easiest way to get something done? For free would be a bonus, or at least nominal cost, as opposed to adobe's joke prices.

Any hints/clues welcomed [and possibly heckled  ;) ]

Cheers!  :P

There was two versions but this was purely cosmetic in design. Both are standard Bluetooth devices. A friend of mine uses his icade on his Android tab so I'm guessing it'll work. If you're going to the members doo at the weekend, I'll have my icade with me so feel free to bring your android device with you and we'll see if we can get it working. Same goes for any one else thats going.

Will also bring my 8-bitty controller too which is practically the same device but in a NES style controller case. Perfect for  gaming with proper buttons instead of all that touchscreen malarky.

I will do just that. Given the poo poor internet at the I need to preinstall any controller software?  ;D

Haha, compare it to an ipad, yes, because that's a nice programmable computer you have there.

They really missed a good opportunity to put a ras pi next to it!

with that many tubes - I bet they spent more time calling it by something that rhymes with its name  ;D

On the topic, sort of, I've kinda gotten interested in valves lately. If I can ever be bothered, I want to build one of those nixie clocks...

those are pretty good power supplies, I have a few of an older design of them from argos, they work on most things I throw them at, so must be a fairly smooth output. Unlike a lot of the super cheapies.

There is so much stuff coming out of Venezuela these days. A lot of Atari 2600 titles that have been impossibly rare are now almost common finds

are we talking fakes here?

I hope I haven't featured on said thread!

He doesnt sell much.
There's a few such sellers on ebay, usually they carry '000s of items at well over double their usual sell price, a scattergun approach, looking for someone who either doesnt do their research or is uber-desperate.

Lazy way to do business if you ask me. In the time they take to sell one item, I could have sold ten or more. With less stock. For good money.  :P
