Cool find  :D

old thread i know but only just came across it while seaching for something else !

Anyway it's a pain in the butt... best way i found was to load said program into an emulator on the PC and take a snap at an appropriate place, save that snap onto a disk ( ms-dos 720K ) ( i have both 3" and 3.5" drives on my speccy ) then use garry's tool on speecy to copy the snap from your disk to the CF / HD

Anyway thats how i do it, would be interested to know if you found a better way

not cheap but an alternative maybe

probably only if you really really need to get that old system up and running again, for a new project i'd be looking elsewhere

Wheey... Just back from 2 weeks in sunny Gran Canaria  8)

Anyway, saturday was a great day, shame i had to leave so early but you know plane to catch and all that.... But along with showing off the ZX81... i got to play on the PET a bit, noticed the invaders was buggy, seemed to do a fair bit of talking with loads of different people, played a bit on the arcade Cabs, and was secrely listening to whoever it was playing music up the corner.... played some of the other machines too, kinda hard to rememeber but i know i had a great time and would happily do it again.

Well done everyone for creating a great atmosphere

Well this isn't really going to be hard is it  ;D

The ZX81 was my first computer and after many years my true love has returned and grabbed my heart again, however there are many hours to go before she overtakes the great number spent together as a young teen.

I was also quite fond of my beloved PET now sadly in PET heaven... R.I.P my old friend.

And then more recently i have a Spectrum +3 (well it's a +3e really) alright for a giggle and a laugh at the superior quality of clarity of full coloured hi-resolution graphics  :o

Thanks for that, I'll download them... I say them because i don't know if you can jump from V4 to V12 so perhaps a progressive update will be better, i'll ask on the forum...

Also i see that it says you should update the OS to the latest version before updating the firmware, have you done this already ?

Hi Karl...

Yes i'll be there saturday, Can you either pm/post a link to the *.POF (programming file) so that i may download it, OR ensure you bring it with you on either SD/USB-stick/CD.

I have the Altera software and USB-Blaster, as long as you've got a valid *.POF file progrmming shouldn't be a problem, it's very unlikely to 'brick' it.
