What about rigging the LED? Are the dvd's own LED's tiny square ones (basically built onto the circuit) or do they lift off with clearance? it may be possible to simply run a small gauge wire between the DVD and the shell

Buying a new DVD player is a big no-no for these mods this is why you should always savage old parts at least you know what you have to work with :) Anyways great job on this mod cant wait to see your next project. youd never know it was a dvd player until you saw it open up and spit out a disc

Ive read an ebook 'Have fun while voiding your warenty' where the guy puts a small PC into a nes that was a good read

If I were to guese I would have to say that the disc drawer is mounted onto the original NES cartridge loader it seems to works very smooth are you planning on making use of the original power buttons or is this project done and dusted. I personally think the power button should be made use and then you can have a nice LED working too

I was always a console kid  8) would have loved a c64 + spectrum as a kid a friend of mine still has his c64 and I tried to part him with it he wasnt having any of it, priceless memories he says
