HARDWARE/SYSTEMS DISCUSSION / what flavour expansion card for Amiga1200
« on: January 13, 2009, 10:38:14 PM »
Hi Guys,
just wondering if anybody has experience of trying different expansion cards for Amiga1200. I dont mind spending a bit of dosh as I have quit smoking. From what I have read on Amiga forums I can go 030, 040 or 060. I would like to get the best bang for my buck and run whdload but I am worried regards cooling and compatability issues. Also what sort of price difference is there between 030 and 060 cards.
Right its time for a nice cup of tea - without a ciggy:)

GAMING . . . / Re: GAMES and EMULATORS etc . . .

I took my GP2X to a games industry conference at a university. It offended a lot of industry suits but games programmers thought it was great. All i did was play public domain versions of homebrew gp2x games based on old C64 games on a big screen and some of the finance types got really upset. They hated it. they dont like open source and emulation even less.

Hi guys and thanks for the greetings,
well its back to work with the post christmass blues for me. did loads of games research for two months before the holidays and now its time to turn it into lessons and essays. its a nasty shock. i have been at a local school for the last two weeks and the kids are running me ragged. but it shocks them to have a teacher who knows more about games than they do - ha.
Dave if you like the comics factory in Fallout keep an eye out for the Dunwhitch building - its near the bottom left cornere of the map somewhere east of Ten Penny towers. its a genuinely scary gaming moment and if you like Lovecraft stories you will love it. I love the Fallout games - they just keep on giving.
laters dudes

ok cheers guys.
just want to get whdload up and running :)
and then get my C64 stuff going again.
A working tape deck would be good thanx Jimbob005, just let me know what you want

Hi guys,
just been trawling ebay. I am after a 030 expansion card for my miggy1200 ideally loaded with heaps of ram and runs @50mhz. could do with a nice sized HDD too. also any chance you can supply me with a picture of the 1200 in a 600 case - it was a pure work of art and a few mates dont believe me:)
who was it by the way?
i will buy him a pint

Hi guys and cheers.
A working C64 and tape deck would be great thank you. Both my C64 bread-bins died last week. FR modulator on one I think has totally fried and the other boots but black screens after a couple of minutes. My tape decks are also shot and wont even turn any more - so i have spares and repairs if anybody needs. Just let me know how much you both want for them.
thanks guys
emulation is only so good and i have 200+ original taped games i want to preserve, and play !

I am also looking for an 030@50mhz accelerator bourd with a heap of ram if anybody knocks one up let me know please.
ps I will come to Andy's may event also :)

Yo Guys. just dropping in to say hi to ya'all. well this is new for me: meet people in real life then introduce myself virtually. usually happens the other way around-if at all. I enjoyed the meet today in stoke, and I am looking forward to Byteback - which hotels are folks using? I am a gamer and historian so retro holds a hobby and work interest for me, and I am a gamer before a technician so i can get pretty bogged down with electronics and software issues - but games I do pretty well :) My fave systems are Atari2600, spectrum 48, commodore 64, amiga1200. Eventhough I have owned plenty of consoles over the years it's only lately I have really started to enjoy them as much as computer gaming. with probably the Amiga and C64 being my favorite of all.
I enjoy my xbox360 a lot these days
