Wasn't there a bug in one of these games that actually prevented you from completing it?

JSW on the speccy, there were in fact several bugs, if you visited a certain room, i think conservatory roof? maybe? a block appeared elsewhere that wouldnt allow you past it! :(
You had to poke several bits of memory to be able to complete it! :(

Well the Speccy version has the infamous Attic Bug where by visiting The Attic causes game corruption making you die in various other places. There's also a bug in that the target item count doesn't match the number of items that can be collected.

The BBC Micro version on the other hand crashes as soon as you enter The Watch Tower.

The Atari ST version was never sold - it's a byte for byte Z80 conversion into C of the Speccy version: http://www.penelope.demon.co.uk/jsw/

Just found out that there is a version of MM for the Z88 - anybody got the kit to burn Z88 eproms? ;)
There are also 'conversions' of all sorts of speccy games etc . . .

Were you aware an 11 screen version was written for the ZX81?

Yeah - love it too! What a great version it is - only played it (so far) on an emulator but want to play it properly on our souped up ZX81 . . . 64k onboard with Composite mod too! ;)

If I can find a way of converting the file to tape, I might have a go myself. My latest ZX81 came pre-built in a new (old stock) dk'troniks full-travel keyboard, has a built-in, universal PSU, composite mod and 32K of onboard RAM.  ;D
