Fook me (as Andy says) - just sold one of those on fleabay tonight as I didn't know what to do with it. Mind you it did make a good few quid though so can't complain...

I seen a white joystick with red buttons sell for £46 on eBay last night, was that the one?

I saw that as well and could not believe it went for so much. I also saw another set of the old crappy analog ones which fetched a good price too.

Can't Phu (or another soldering God) create some leads to convert from the BBC Joystick plug to standard C64 D Plug joysticks? Then we can use our Speedkings on the BBC!

@Blackpanther - yes that was mine. Must admit I couldn't believe the price either. And yet a BEEB disk drive only went for £16 same evening. Can't pretend I understand it - but I guess someone must just have really wanted it...

If seen the same joystick as yours online for £15. I thought that was expensive but it looks like its not now.

But you rarely see them with a BBC plug attached, and that is why I think it went for so much.

I've got a ZipStik you could have. It's very retro..! Boxed, for what it's worth. It's quite dirty and it's resisting my cleaning attempts :)

I haven't had a chance to test it fully but I can give it a going over and let you know how it shapes up.

If you don't want it anymore then I'll buy it off you.

I don't mind cleaning it.

I know I'm going to regret saying this but...

You are aware that PC joysticks can be used on a BBC Micro, subject to a rewiring adapter?

i.e. The connections are the same, just a different pin out. A suitable adapter to allow a PC joystick (of the old analogue type rather than USB, obviously) could be made from around 8 wires and two 15-way D connectors...

Ha ha you'd better hope not too many people on here have BBC micros, or you could find yourself with a load of work making those...

No need for me though as my Beeb lump was fleabayed last week, because I very rarely need a trouser press !

I haven't used it in ages, I'm more of a keyboard driver. I'll test it up today and if it's in good working nick I'll be happy to sell it. Are you going to the RCMOD 'cos I could bring it along, save some postage.

I don't mind cleaning it.

It's grubby rather than icky, if you know what I mean :) Shouldn't take more than hot'n'soapy and elbow grease. I did have a go but I must admit not much of one  :P

See... I knew I was setting myself up...

3 of your English pounds Sir. I can make these cheaper for the moment as I happen to have a stash of 15-way D connectors that I've had unused for years... be good to make use of them.
