Don't know about fitment

You need the correct DMA chip or it wont work
512k should work, but the HDD driver app that you have to run takes up a chunk of that RAM so 1 meg or pref more is better.
Not all games can be run from the Satan, some have been cracked, but not all
Maybe better to go for the HcX floppy emulator?

If its mainly for gaming then the floppy emulator would be best. The Satandisk should work fine with a 512kb but like 1200xl said 1meg would be ideal. The Satandisk is a harddrive replacement so gaming isn't the best for it, also it looks like the people that crack the games to work with it has slowed down, not much really going on at the moment.

I think that most of really good games is already adapted (fixed, patched) for hard disks. Talking about Atari ones ...
At moment I'm busy by making new hard disk driver with required utils as partitioner - with full UltraSatan support. Why new driver ? Because existing ones are not updated for long time, or aren't best for gaming (for instance Hddriver as onlyone still under devel, support).
It will be available soon, in few weeks. Until it may read some hard disk faqcts :

or even try driver : http://ppera.07x.net/atari/DiskImgPP1.html
