1. If you had more tables you could squeeze more in (A La RV). Also I love my beebs, but perhaps a room full of them, and then another 4 in the main room was too many. Perhaps use a small room for a multiplayer doom/duke nukem/Half Life PC setup next time? I think the venue is still a good size for this event. Not sure how much its costs to rent the place, compared to other places though. Location of existing venue is also a bit in the middle of nowhere.

2. I have been saying all along that a one day event is too short, but if it was to turn in to a two day event with Sat evening it would be nice to have a bar/alcohol and be in walking distance of a cheap hotel, like the private event.

3. Current food is good for lunch/snacks, but would need something more filling for dinner rather than living on Jacket Potatoes for two days. Perhaps near a take away, or an option to get take aways delivered to the venue?

good points StarshipUK!

1) - we tried a doom setup last May and it just didn't work out properly for some reason.

2) - we also tried alcohol at our May event due to requests - in the end nobody really brought any! we made quite a loss on that one!

3) - I tend to agree but takeaways in the main hall would be a no-no as it would stink out the entire room! whatever it was!

The main problem we have with any venue, including this one is that setting up on the friday is an absolute arse, it means booking the venue for virtually three days!

The doom set up didn't work due to incompatibilities in the DOS drivers. We had four PCs and only two would talk to each other.

Secondly, hardly anybody showed any interest. About the only game was between me and one other person.

Last May we had bacon sandwiches before we opened. It whiffed for a while. So we have a rule (enforced by Linda wielding an early issue Vic-20 with the power supply glued to it) on no take-aways in the current venue... ;)
