That's common with the A500 and A500+s
Mostly, the shorter shift keys (with the two blank keys) are European made keyboards (probably were considered for the Germans, French and Spanish as those blank keys do something under non-GB keymaps)
The keyboards without the blank keys (and the longer shift keys) are adapted to UK layout from a US keyboard.

On the A500s, the the big enter, longer shift keys, keyboards are more popular and on the A500+s, the keyboards with the blank keys are more popular.

One thing to look out for, if that A500 has red keyboard LEDs, then it's from an earlier model A500 ..... have a look at the keys to the left and right of the Spacebar, if you have a Commodore key (C= logo) to the left of the Spacebar (and the usual A key to the right), then it's a rare original keyboard from the beginning of the A500's life. These models came equipped with the early Kickstart 1.2 as apposed to the 1.3 that later A500s had.
If you just have two A keys, then it's the normal everyday A500 keyboard that's quite easy to get hold of.

You require Kickstart 2.04 or for that Workbench 2.04.
The A500+ has Kickstart 2.04 and the A600 has 2.05 so that Workbench 2.04 disk will work in both of those, just not the A500 (unless you upgrade the Kickstart ROM chip)
