A polite request . . . not sure if this always gets lost . . . if any new members join up could they please let us know who you are via this thread? It would be good to know a little background and how you found us? Nothing too personal just a little info please?

@THX1138,
I don't think so - nice idea but not sure if it is possible.

Hi all, I'm Pete (PJ) - live in Nottingham and came across this site on World of Spectrum.

Am a recent convert to Retro gaming - always been a Sinclair fan but never thought to revisit until recently when I saw one for sale on Ebay and thought - why not ? Started off when I was young creating bits of code to copy cassette tapes to Microdrive to avoid the long load times, which led to the early part of my career being spent programming in z80 assembler and C. The happy days when you could dump an entire 64k ram segment and read it to find a bug - try that with a 2 gig memory module !

I guess that kind of nostalgia menas that I now have mainly Speccy systems but also a few other bits and bobs that I've found lying about (Sega Master and Commodore mainly).

Very interested in what you are trying to achieve with the Retro Computer Museum, so hope it all works out for you, will visit the forums when I can to keep up with what is going on.
Best of luck !

Just had a quick scan and looks like it could be an interesting day. Not checked if I'm free on that Sunday, but if I am, then I'm in !

Thanks chaps !

Just been having a poke around the old posts to see what you all get up to on here & was intrigued by the one about bargains - think I may have a contender here.

Bought a box of old consoles from Nottingham market a few weeks ago that contained: 2 x Phillips CD-i units, 3 x Acorn Electrons, 3 x Commodore +4 & 2 Dreamcast. Total price a tenner !

Unfortunately these are consoles only & I've not been able to test any as I don't have PSUs for any of these types of systems, so it could equally be the worst buy ever made as they may be complete junk !

Anyone know if the C64 or Vic-20 PSU is suitable for the +4 ? Or what would be a reasonable substitute for any of the others ?

I think that the PSU for the vic and C64 is compatible with the plus 4

I know the commodore 16 has a psu that is a similar spec to the 48k speccy.
Can't remember what psu the +4 has, i will check mine!

The PSU unit looks the same as the Vic20 (that kind of 'cheese shaped' one) but the connectors on the end are different - the 20 has a circular DIN type plug where the Plus 4 takes a square one. Like the one on the Amiga, but that doesn't fit either.....

Shame because I'd like to test these. They look visually in good nick..

Are you coming to the open day - I have lost track who is coming?
