Hello again all,
I have been away along while - redundancy, ilness, early middle age induced surgery and finaly a house move that has seen all my retro stuff bagged up and in storage. But all is much better now and I am reactivating my accounts on EAB and Retro Gamer
Its good to see you guys going from strength to strength
Andy my apologies for not being around or coming to your gigs but its been a rough year or so and everything has taken a back seat.

Hi, my names Andy. i've been slowly collecting console for the past 10 years. I live in Leicester so will defo be coming to the event in may.

My collection so far consists of a 48k spectrum, atari 2600, nes, snes, n64, gamecube, megadrive, saturn, dreamcast, various gameboys and a VECTREX which is awesome, only had it a few weeks and cant stop playing on it (much to the annoyance of the GF)

I found the site from googling about vectrex, ended up on the retro gamer site and then a link about the event in may.

great site, looking forward to may.....

Andy,
Welcome to RCM - nice collection you have there - especially the Vectrex - do you have many games for it?
Look forward to meeting you in May! ;)
Cheers

three games so far for the vectrex - rip off, armor attack and starship. cant play starship properly yet tho, as button 2 on the controller is playing up even tho i've given the contacts a good clean!!! I even bought another controller from ebay, and button 2 will not work on that either, so it must be a wiring problem???

Sounds like a wiring problem to me too.
One of our guys (stiggy) purchased a 72-in-1 cartridge for RCM - brilliant cart - nearly everything released for the vectrex on one cartridge! :)

Button 2 is the escape button on minestorm, so still playable.

Hi there,
I am Ben, regular user on the Jamma+ and Retrogamer forums, I had certainly heard of this site before on J+, but it was a google search for a Rastan PCB repair log that brought me here yesterday by chance, thus pricking my interest.

I am a collector of all sort of things, Snes, N64, Gameboy, Dreamcast, PS1/2, Xbox and Arcade stuff.   I also collect old games magazines too (just 3 issue to find till I have the full set of CVGs)

Looking forward to looking around and hopefully contributing.
Cheers
Ben

Hi, I'm Martin (one half of The Retro Brothers) and found this site by basically looking at all the best retro sites Google and Yahoo could give me!

I'm planning on coming to the open day this year.... can't wait to see all of those retro machines in action!

My main passions are the ZX Spectrum and Commodore Amiga - check out my blogs if you fancy reading about some classic games on these machines.

Cheers all and nice to be here!

Hi Martin,

My two fave retro machine, the rubber key Speccy and the Amiga, grew up with both of them, many, many classics for both and a few howlers as well, I'll check out the blogs when I can !

Stu.

Hi guys!

I'm Mike, I'm 43,  I've been an avid gamer since the late 70s.  It all started back then with the old black and white pong games (football/tennis/squash) that could be connected up to your own tv.  In 1980 I obtained an Atari VCS with Combat and Space Invaders cartridges.   From then on throughout the following years I then bought the Atari 400/800XL/130XE/520ST/520STE/Lynx and Jaguar.

During the period of the late 80s/early 90s I became a big fan of the demo scene, what those guys achieved out of the hardware was amazing, except for the annoying scrollers...which made your eyes bleed after 30 mins of reading total blabber! :)      At the time my fav coder and still is Jeff Minter, for 8bit chip music it still is Rob Hubbard...Sanxion Loader & Starpaws anyone?

During the 90s and to this date I've collected many consoles and games but I have to admit I spend most of my gaming pleasure on my PC.

Looking forward to the weekend event in May which is quite local to me.   Any idea on where I buy tickets from?
