Wish I could get into modern FPS, especially on 360/ps3 (much cheaper than constantly upgrading pc components to play high spec games), but....I just can't seem to play any FPS games with a joypad. I must be classically trained - give me a mouse & cursors keys anyday ;D

Of course, i said this when i brought my first Master System/NES! 'Two independant buttons, but i'm used to a Quikshot II'  ;D

Xbox live FPSs are not my friend atm - i cant stand the screaming kids anymore. I am sick of having my race and sexuality questioned by 12 yr olds playing an 18 rated game. I pay 40quid a year for the pleasure too :(
I do really enjoy Zombies though - 3Arcs Zombie co-op maps from World At War and BlOps are the best thing to come out of the whole glut of console based FPS games in years now - IMO of course
beware the truth unless its yours

Whilst I don't mind the odd bit of FPS, I much prefer the sandbox type games.  So the likes of Assassin's Creed, GTA and Red Dead have all been played and just wading through Just Cause 2 (whilst Assassin's Creed 2: Brotherhood sits patiently in the background waiting to be played next).

I agree the recent glut of modern FPS games are getting a little similar, though I am still a hopeless addict of Counterstrike Source, and the odd bout of BFBC2, Team Fortress 2 was a breath of fresh air.

For me it is all about finiding a group of people who you play regularly with and so you can control the server, pub games are nightmare with the l33t kids/hackers.

I'm unsure about sandbox games, I loved Saints Row 2, hate all the GTA games, Just Cause 2 I played for a good while, just didn't go back to it after a few weeks solid play, not sure why.

Then again as a diehard FPS player for years I cannot bring myself to play with a joypad, needs a mouse k/b to be able pull off those lightning headshots  ;D

That video is funny :)

Agree about the modren shooters being full of adolecent whiners tho :(

Myself I still mainly play the old games, Doom, Unreal, Unreal Tourament (the original one), Quake series and Open Arena.

Cheers.

Phill.
