Out for the bin men!!
« on: May 06, 2011, 03:38:07 AM »
Amazing what you find on the kerb on hard-rubbish week. A guy popped up on the forum in Perth saying he had found 1 upright cabinet, 2 cocktails and a box of boards marked "Faulty" out on hard-rubbish day in his suburb while walking his dog. He dashed home to get his Ute and managed to get the cocktails and the pile of boards, by the time he got back to get the cabinet he was just in time to see it going into the crusher.

But - quite a score, and he picked up the boards especially for me as he reads my logs, all I have to pay is the postage. From the photos (some were labelled) and a bit of research it looks like I am getting...

Data East board - Heavy Barrel, Bad Dudes, Robocop, Birdie Try or Hippodrome based on eyeballing the board - am hoping its a Robocop
Original Pang
Bootleg Altered Beast
Smashed Capcom CPS2 cart - game unknown
Bootleg Scramble Formation with JAMMA adaptor
Bootleg Chopper I with JAMMA adaptor.
Bootleg Terra Cresta
Bootleg Gunsmoke
Bootlet Black Dragon/Tiger
SNK NeoGeo 2 Slot board
Bootleg Section Z
Original Toki
Original World Cup 90

YAY YAY YAY

Not bad for a walk with the dog!  They are somewhere between his house and mine at the moment, if on a plane they should arrive today, if on a truck it will be a while yet, over 2000 miles from that kerbside to my repair bench

V excited - especially if that board really is a Robocop! Also keen on the World Cup 90, have a boardset here that is resolutely dead, despite me being unable to find a single thing wrong with it. This one does run  but the label says "no men" so presumably missing sprites. Can swap the CPU and Videos boards with my current one to try and narrow down where the fault is hiding!

Blimey that's quite a haul  :)

Sounds like your going to be busy for a while  ;D

How utterly devastating though to watch a cab going in the crusher !!  :-[

Super cool. I also found my 2nd 2p upright at hard-rubbish (inside was a 2 slot MVS); same goes for one of my Namco Arcade Stick for PSX and quite alot of retro consoles };-P

My other upright (my first) was my 10 years anniversary gift from my wife; now THAT'S true love };-D

Well my crate has arrived, finally, Mrs W says it is too heavy to move so it gets to spend the day on the porch.

What wonders await me when I get home tonight ??? Got my fingers crossed that the Data East board is a Robocop, if it turns out to be Birdy Try I will be rather fed up.
