I made that composite mod on my 48K Spectrum a couple of years ago. Very simple and fast procedure if you can handle a soldering iron. I don't know if the signal strength is good enough to drive every possible TV/monitor, but I didn't yet get a problem with either I tried to use.

That composite mod is very easy to carry out indeed, done it a few times. Even had a speccy running a 42" LCD using it.  ;D

Best part is that a number of other computers and video games tend to use the same kind of RF modulator, so once you have verified the input signal is good, some of those could in theory be modified in the same way, in case they don't already have a decent composite or RGB output. Of course the rarer system, the less desired it might be to hack into it.

I've done the composite mod on my 48k Speccy. Took about 10 mins and works perfectly.

I also use my mp3 player to load games into same Speccy. Only thing to remember is not to include the games in your playlist when you do shuffle. That initial screech is deafening!  :o
