The C64 was my first ever computer at the age of about 5 or 6, and was an inspiration to me.

Shame this news wasn't any where near as significant as the death of Steve Jobs.

The operating system for all the Atari STs was TOS (*) which (allegedly) stood for: Tramiel Operating System.

(*) one 'S' .. before some wit dives in

Just read his obit in the Telegraph. A true pioneer. How different it would be now if he had bought Apple.
