RCM Website v3
« on: February 26, 2013, 08:50:05 AM »
Hello everybody . . .

Just to let you ALL know we will be making MAJOR changes to the Retro Computer Museum website this evening - because of this the forums etc will be updated at 8.00pm - if you could be absolute fantastic people and not post from 7.45pm onwards until we say it is okay to do so - you can still post but there is chance that it will disappear anyway! ;)

When I login, all the funky RCM graphics from the side disappear?

Dunno if it's just me, but I find having the RCM graphics up either side of the screen, is distracting, and a little 'in your face' especially in the forum.

Cheers.

Phill.

This is what view I get when I log in to the forum.  Looks nothing like Sophie's screenshot further up the page.  The logos either side don't matter much, it's just me spotting why I get a different layout.

I wonder if you have a different theme set on your account...... will go and look

Yep - your account was set to a specific theme - not "Forum Default" - have now changed that for you.

Ah right - changed it to one of the other options on the old forum.  One for the "existing user FAQs" in case there's more than just me with this problem.

Should the OCM badge at the top next to your mugshot be linked to their site?

And I just clicked on home and got a 403 Forbidden error.

It will eventually....

And clear your browser cache...

I'm with Phil, all the graphics either side are really off putting.

Maybe there's an option in the forum software to copy the existing profile, but remove the side graphics?  I couldn't use the stock forum default on the old forum as it looked 'odd' on my 40" TV, hence why I had the problems above as I wasn't using the 'default' when it was copied across :)
