Bought a 2600 today at Bowlers car boot
« on: December 15, 2013, 09:07:51 PM »
Well, I just had to.  There was a trader (aka house clearence specialist) who wanted £15 for 10 Speccy games from the early Imagine days .. or there was another trader who had this 2600 with about 10 or so games.

So I bought the VCS. It looks like the heavy sixer style but isn't as heavy as I thought they would be, so I am guessing it's the lighter reworked model.

It was dropped off at my flat as I was heading back to Eleanor's. Need to dig out my LCD TV and see if it will work. If not then who can mod it for me? (Several suggestions on Twitter were received as to what I can do).

Oops - no PSU found.  Ho hum .. can't test it *just* yet :)

Oh and is there only the Harmony cart available for it?

I think there may be other carts available but Harmony is the best. Its not that expensive compared to other flash carts. Most VCS carts are cheap as chips on the evil bay, I just ordered Warlords or some Xmas paddle fun :)
You fail it! Your skill is not enough, see you next time, bye-bye!

Cheers - I will look into getting a Harmony cart in the new year at some point.  I've ordered a modern replacement PSU for it.

Also Eleanor's sister bought me an Atari Flashback as a Chrimbo pressie - which would explain why she was asking a lot of questions about the 2600 at the car boot :)

Darn .. replacement PSU turned up today c/o ePrey.  VCS still doesn't work, no life in it whatsoever :(

However the Flashback works a treat and the language coming from Eleanor during a game of Warlords was tres bleu!  She's so vindictive against me when she gets the ball - regardless of which of the other two AI players hit her wall.  *sniff* *sniff* :)

I'll bring it with me to RCM if anyone can take a look at the VCS.  All being well, will visit in February and bring all the donations that are slowly piling up :)
