OLD-COMPUTERS.COM ~ donations
« on: April 28, 2009, 02:42:11 PM »
Just received the following email. If you are interested in any of the items, PM me your email address and I will send the full email on. I dont want these peoples email address getting harvested for spam.

Hi,

Lately, some kind people contacted us to donate us many different computers (see original emails below). Sadly, we can't accept/handle it. Would you be interested? If so, please contact DIRECTLY the donors corresponding to each donation.

Please remember:
- tell him you are a member of the OLD-COMPUTERS.COM collectors database,
- though he donated this system, you will have to pay shipping costs
- please drop us a mail if you get one of the systems, so we know our donation mailings are working
- most important, be POLITE :-) with these kind donors.

Good luck!

“I hope to find a good place for the following:

Antony Franks  says:

“I have a BBC Model B, S/N 02-B01-215984
Bought in (I think) mid/late 80's
Sidewise extra ROM board, Watford DFS, Watford 32k RAM board, iinterWord, iinterSheet, interChart, Watford mouse. No cables, manuals but makes the OK noise when switched on. Due to house move this must go - free to anyone who can collect otherwise it's for the skip!”

---AMSTRAD PC 1512 (Bangor, Gwynedd, UK)---
Susan Brooks  says:

“we have an Amstrad 1512 upgraded, with a printer. its not been used for years, but we think it might work if it was plugged.
We are based in North Wales - near Bangor, Gwynedd, if anyone is near and wants it.   However we are contemplating a move to Southern England in the near future so if its not collected it will go to the great  recycle bin in the sky”

@Andy(RCM) - any interest in the Amstrad 1512 for the museum ? Got to go and collect my eldest from Bangor Uni in a couple of weeks - will have a car full of his stuff but sure we can find room for it. I can bring it over to the Open Day. Always assuming it's still there of course, only just read the post so maybe too late now....

@PJ, yeah that might be an idea, did you want to deal with it and see if it is still available?
Thanks to AndyT and you too PJ!
