HARDWARE/SYSTEMS DISCUSSION / Re: atari 400 power supply question
« on: December 03, 2014, 04:56:37 PM »
Hi Traindriver69,

I have two power supplies one for the computer and one for the disk drive, one is branded 'Ingersoll' and the other is 'Tadmod', both have the wires colour coded (at least one is blue).

Sorry I can't be of more help with this !

Hi Traindriver69,

As the power supply is AC then the polarity is alternating so I wouldn't have thought it made a difference, although saying this a quick scan of Wikipedia says "In AC systems the two wires alternate polarity many times per second. In this context, "polarity" refers to the order in which the neutral and phase wires are connected. This is meaningful only with respect to ground potential. Reverse polarity could be dangerous." but I think this is referring more to mains (240v) setup rather than the output from a 9v supply.

But I may well be wrong, so I hope I haven't confused you too much  ;) This is why I don't usually answer techy questions !

GAMING . . . / Unreleased C64 game
« on: November 26, 2014, 03:34:15 PM »
There's been a few different one knocking about over the years, and this was a game developed by RARE (those of Ultimate fame), originally released on the NES, Solar Jetman was another installment in the Jetpac/Lunar Jetman series. It was originally announced that it would also be available for the Amiga, Atari ST, C64 and Speccy, but these were dropped due to poor sales on the NES, but a working copy has since been found on the C64. I haven't personally tried this, watching the videos on Youtube it looks so much like Thrust I am surprised there weren't lawsuits  ;)

Anyways here's a link to see more details Solar Jetman

I'll try a direct link to the download HERE

Perhaps Andy can get this running on the RCM C64, Enjoy !!

FOR SALE / WANTED / Re: Jupiter ACE 4000 for sale
« on: October 21, 2014, 10:09:13 AM »
Real 4000's with the composite output do fetch a stupid amount like Andy said, could be in excess of £600.

Usually a few picture showing it working and that all the keys work etc. is enough to sell one relatively easily, ebay with a set reserve is probably the easiest way to go.
