HARDWARE/SYSTEMS DISCUSSION / Happy Birthday Playstation
« on: September 29, 2011, 10:19:59 PM »
It was 16 years ago today that Sony release the PAL PlayStation in the UK :)

I thought I'd celebrate by playing PlayStation game 0001 - Ridge Racer :)

As the machines I had to hand were all non chipped I had to use the famous disk swap to run my Original JAP copy...but it worked second time :)

Played it tonight...just as I was doing 16 years ago.....along with Wipeout that night too :)

Happy Birthday PlayStation

Stupid Question time.....

Will a C64 work with a Sega Mega Drive 1 scart video lead ???

I want a better picture that RF...but no money for a Dr Phu lead at the moment  ;)

The connectors look the same...but i know that does not mean they are wired up the same way!!

Thought I'd ask as it's to bloody hot to go searching for a Mega Drive 1 lead in the loft!!!

Help/advise welcomed - as ever

OFF TOPIC / Backing Up HDD
« on: August 04, 2011, 08:41:20 PM »
I know someone will be able to help :)

Does anyone know of any easy to use and free software to enable me to create a backup/mirror copy of a PC HDD ???

My base unit has in internal 2TB HDD, which has played up once in the past but has been fine for months (I've said it now...guess what will happen  ;D) I have an external 2TB HDD that I want to backup/mirror the internal HDD on to.

Ideally I want it to run weekly.

I'm open to suggestions :)

Cheers in advance

OFF TOPIC / PC Hard Drive problem
« on: April 26, 2011, 07:35:15 PM »
Can anyone advise me.

My SATA (2tb) HDD in my PC is playing up....It's only a couple of months old

The other HDD's are fine :)

It was formatted at NTFS and worked with no problems...I have not changed anything but now it is showing as RAW.

If I use Computer Management it confirms this....however....if I use Paragon Disk Manager it shows as NTFS ???

I can not access this using normal windows explorer but can get data off it using Paragon Disk Manager.

Unfortunately a straight re-format is not an option as I need to keep/get off about 1TB of data from the drive but do not have enough storage media to put it onto whilst formatting.

Advice welcomed :)
