Hi guys,

Some help needed - I picked up a PS2 slim + games for approx. 15 quid from the the local car boot sale.
Anyway, I seem to have a problem, the PS2 controller that came with didn't work, opened it up, all looked OK to me.
Borrowed a known working PS2 controller from a friend - this doesn't work either !!!!
However, the plot thickens .... an original Playstation controller (aka PS1 controller) DOES work, but the unfortunate problem is that not all PS2 games support using the older PS1 pads.

Any ideas? This looks like a console problem (not a controller issue) but not sure how to best got about repair (if at all possible)

Research on the internet suggests that the controller ports on the slim models of PS2 are NOT user replaceable.

Anyway, any help appreciated.

I bought my ticket from the Revival guys at the RCM Snibston event, so I'll see you all there :)

I'm interested if you're OK to drop off at an RCM event

Dunno to be honest, I can't make everything.
I do fancy it, but it's the travel that's the issue - I absolutely HATE driving in London (let alone trying to park) so would be looking at public transport, which probably won't be cheap.
I'm also going to the RCM members do the following weekend.

It would make a useful door stop  ;D

I'll see if I can make it, no guarantees at the moment though.

A couple of things: I picked up a boxed mint Acorn Electron from Snibston, excellent.
Box is a bit tatty, but everything else is decent.

Also, I've got an A570 CD-ROM drive for Amiga 500 on it's way from feebay.

As usual, had a brilliant time - all positives!

I have two negatives: I didn't have enough cash to buy more stuff LOL and I wish there was more hours in the day (damn it went so quick)

Really looking forward to the members do next month.

Sounds good to me ;D I'll come along ..... if you'll have me ;)

Our first 2012 collaboration with Snibston Discovery Park (Coalville, Leics)
Brilliant! - any idea when tickets are on sale?
