OFF TOPIC / Re: Bloody weather . . . a rant . . .

The whole of Liverpool's one big ice rink at the moment. Even the big main roads are busy. Looking outside our office window you could see loads of cars and lorries getting stuck on a busy junction. Also a lot of cars sliding backwards down slopes. One lorry in particular reveresed about 200 yards back up the dual carriage way so he could get a run-up past the ice. Loads of people dodging red lights because they don't want to stop their vehicles and get stuck. Very chaotic, but no accidents thankfully.

I didn't struggle getting to and from work today, but getting home in the snow yesterday was awful. Took an hour and a half to drive less than 2 miles :\

Yep, Happy New Year to everyone!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that town isn't totally dead tonight like it was last year...

ColinD over on the RG Forum found this link with a bit more info on the whole event:

Also, he noticed there's a Space Invaders pub quiz on at the Fact on Jan 19th:
I'll be going to that (and blackpanther too) so if anyone fancies coming along let us know :)

11:56am - Not long been up. Going to have a super lazy day of watching films and playing Lost Odyssey. Really enjoying that game so far.

Off to play Lost Odyssey on the 360 now while blackpanther's asleep. I love being off work :D

I noticed this about a week ago when I was walking past they were putting up some Space Invaders stickers on the window. There's now a Space Invaders cab just inside the entrance.

Not had a chance to have a proper look at the exhibition yet so I'd be up for a meet and I'm sure blackpanther would too (assuming we're not working), especially as we live practically next door to The Fact!

GENERAL RETRO CHIT CHAT / Re: Surrond Sound for PS3
« on: December 29, 2009, 12:13:25 AM »
We have a cheapish 5.1 Sony surround sound system I used to have for my PC. Now that's gone though, think I'll try it on the PS3 when we get round to changing the TV stand. Not sure how it will work yet myself... or how to position the speakers as the telly's in a bit of an awkward spot...

22:34 Top Gear Special was great

12:10 - Yeah, really enjoyed that myself. It was quite scary in some places though. Couldn't believe how close to the edge Clarkson was on that road!

Had my old PSP back in the post from Zetr0 last night. Was enjoying Aladdin, Puzzle Bobble and Lemmings on it yesterday inbetween watching Blade Runner.

I think this afternoon I'll fire up the PS3 and continue with Prince of Persia.

Having never seen a proper orchestra until a few weeks back at VGL, I reckon this will be amazing to see live. I'll bet there'll be loads of people in costume too!

Very, very tempted to get tickets for the Liverpool one, just a shame it's a bit pricey. Will have a think about it!
