SOLD: Woody.cool's tat!
« on: October 27, 2009, 11:47:35 AM »
Hi all,

The first of many items for sale.

I'm selling a custom built PC of the following spec:
  • Intel D845HV motherboard
  • Intel Pentium 4 CPU @ 1.6GHz
  • 1GB RAM
  • nVidia GeForce 2 MX graphics card w/ 32MB RAM (was quite good back in the day)
  • 16x DVD-ROM
  • CD-RW (unknown speed & untested)
  • 40GB Hard Drive
  • legitimate/genuine Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3, all the updates done & a genuine COA sticker
I've installed AVG Free 9.0 on it, so it's got some anti-virus protection (although nowadays, I don't think AVG is as good as it used to be)
The machine has 6 USB ports (4 on the back and 2 on the front) as well as front & back audio connectors.

The case is a gloss black colour, but being a shop display model, has some minor scratches on it (nothing that looks too bad and it certainly doesn't affect the performance of the machine)

I've listed this on ebay too: CLICK HERE!
Any SENSIBLE offers accepted (baring in mind, it's got a legit Windows XP Home license)

If someone on here wants it (and the auction has enough time to go), I'll be prepared to end the ebay auction and sell it to you!

This is the only system I have in this case (the one pictured on the ebay auction) BUT I do have other similar specced systems for sale (once I've set up Windows and removed my old crap data off them or swapped the hard drives for ones I haven't used) in different cases.

Cheers

Right, item #2 .... another similar specced PC

Item description:

Fujitsu Siemens SCENIC P300 Pentium 4 PC
  • Intel Pentium 4 CPU @ 1.6GHz
  • 1GB RAM
  • 30GB IDE HDD
  • DVD-ROM .... no brand name on the drive, but based on the bezel design (& the description in the BIOS) I'd say it's an LG drive
  • Fujitsu Siemens branded keyboard & mouse
  • Original Fujitsu Siemens packaging/box
  • Genuine Windows XP Professional with genuine COA sticker and Fujitsu Siemens branded OEM installation media (basically a 'Windows XP Recovery CD'
  • 3.5" 1.44MB Floppy Drive (unfortunately, the floppy drive has been replaced at some point and the floppy drive bezel does not match the case, this is purely cosmetic)

As per usual, I've stuck AVG Free 9.0 on there, so it's ready for Internet usage without the fear of getting virused up as soon as you connect.
It's actually quite a good machine, and the SCENIC range are aimed at business users .... they're a sturdy machine.
This PC is an ex-corporate machine, although there is no company data that can be recovered from it, so don't get any ideas ;)

Item #3: Sony Vaio Laptop model VGN-FE21B

Not listed anywhere else.
Specs as follows:
  • Intel Core Duo @ 1.6Ghz
  • 1GB RAM
  • 80GB SATA HDD
  • On-board LAN, Modem, Wireless LAN, Audio
  • nVida GeForce Go 7200 graphics
  • Internal DVD+/-RW
Unfortunately, there's a few issues with this laptop ...... it works perfectly except the keyboard is missing it's O key and the contact underneath is knackered, so a new keyboard is required.
Also, the laptop is missing it's charger ..... these can be picked up off ebay for £15 (and that's the proper Sony charger as well)
Finally, this laptop was recovered from my old workplace that has just 'closed down' (see my recent thread in Off Topic) and the boss has conviently nicked the Windows XP COA sticker.
I've managed to recover the CD-KEY using a keyfinder program and reinstall a fresh Windows XP Professional for whoever buys it, but being as it lacks a COA, I cannot gurantee a legal Windows XP installation (even though I know it is)

As usual, I've installed AVG Free 9.0 on the laptop, so it's got some anti-virus on it for the mo.

Baring in mind the above slight issues, and the fact this machine had a retail price of between £800 and £1000, I'm currently looking around the £100 for it (I know, that's a big drop, but the buyer's gonna have to find a replacement keyboard)

Obviously, sensible offers will be considered.

Thank again all
Cheers

Hi Woody,

I wouldn't mind the laptop if you bring it to RCM open day & pay the £100 for what you asking for?

AndyRCM has passed on this, so here's the pics

The third pic shows the missing O key on the keyboard.
As you can tell from pic 2, this machine does work (I've reformatted and installed a fresh Windows XP Professional installation on it)

Are you still interested in it Resident Paul?
Cheers

Cool 8) It's now yours then!

I must say, it's a nice machine.
Just not got the money to repair it, otherwise I'd have had it for myself.

Just a quick reminder, the Fujitsu Siemens PC above (Item #2) is still for sale.
There will probably be more bits & pieces being listed above soon.

OK if you can bring it to the Open Day I'll have it off you, ta.

Anything else IIS/Web server related that you can load on it before then would be appreciated too..
