Here you go, a preview of the tickets . . .

The main information will be on the back of the tickets.

A map, and/or address with postcode on the other side would be a good idea.

Retro Fusion 08 didn't have that, nor was I given any directions, and I had to scour the net for the Rugby Clubs postcode, and my sat nav said I'd arrived, 1/2mile early.

@THX1138,
Yeah - that is the idea - a map and directions will be on the reverse - don't worry the satnav guides you to virtually the front door!

This might be a bit much information to put onto the back of the ticket, but where's the nearest railway station, and are there any bus services which pass close to the venue?

There is a station at Loughborough and also Leicester.

Bearing in mind the Open Day is on a Sunday the buses are limited.

There is a bus from Leicester Bus Station that goes to Swannington ( destination is Swadlincote ) and that is the Arriva no.217 or 218. on route X2

There is a bus that leaves at 9.40 and gets to Swannington at around 10.44 but I am not sure where it stops in Swannington. Going back there is one at 16.27 or 18.27.

If you look on www.Arrivabus.co.uk you may get some idea.

The buses from Loughborough aren't very frequent on a sunday and the first bus to coalville is at midday!

Don't know if this has helped or not?

Linda

That's excellent. I'll be able to plan my journey, and I'll keep an eye on the Arriva bus website to check for timetable alterations.

I will be passing thru Leicester on my way. Could pick you up if you really get stuck.

You want me to bring a spare crash helmet, and drop you off at the station in the evening?

Cheers Andy and thx1138,

If all goes according to plan, I should reach Leicester Station at 1147. If the hotel in Luton is O.K. with a late arrival, I should be able to leave Leicester Station at 1713.

The 217 bus service on a Sunday leaves the station at 1240 to arrive at Swannington, Robin Hood (is that a pub?) at 1344.
To get back to the station to catch my train, I'll have to catch the 218 bus at Coalville Memorial Square at 1545.

Which leaves me less than 2 hours to admire the collection if I rely only on public transport :(

Your offers of a lift from Leicester are greatly appreciated.
