Sonic the Hedgehog 4

Sega are trying to win over retro Sonic fans by making a new Sonic game with old style gameplay (2D) and modern graphics (3D). I can see how this would be appealing.

But just how retro is it?
Is it:
Very retro - gameplay counts for everything.
Half retro - the gameplay looks sound, but the graphics bring the retro score down.
Not retro - it was made too recently, and it won't work on a Mega Drive.

I'm torn between Half and Not.

I can't stand 3D sonic games as they just not fun compared to the old games. This however does look good and I will be downloading this on the PS3 store when it comes out.

I'll certainly give it a try. It can't be worse than the first zone in Sonic Rush.

Sonic never really worked in 3d for me, but I will probably give this new game a go when it is released
