R3PLAY
« on: April 11, 2010, 08:17:02 PM »
Picked up a flyer yesterday at Retro Rewind for R3PLAY which is being held at Blackpool in Nov. Anyone fancy a trip to the seaside?

Wonder if there's many old arcade machines lurking around Blackpool?

I used to live in Blackpool for quite a long time. I will definitely be going, without a doubt!

When I last lived in Blackpool there was about one arcade place that had retro arcade machines, all the other arcades were more modern titles.
All going to plan (and if, after my research, discover that ol' arcade is still open these days) I'm quite happy to take myself & a few of us down there for some serious arcade action.

Hey, don't knock Blackpool. It's a great place (just don't ever live there)

Alas Woody, if you are thinking about the one in front of the Pleasure Beach, with Space Invaders part2, Paperboy, Operation Wolf, Outrun, SW:ROTJ and others, Jim the owner retired at the end of the 2009 season and sold all his machines on Ebay.

Probably a good thing, i can stretch a few hours with one credit on SW:ROTJ - would miss R3play :-)

I've seen this cab appear on ebay a few times and likewise been tempted every time.

We're going. I'm up in Blackpool quite often with work, but never actually been to any of the arcades or Pleasure Beach :(
