NES-Bit, A new UK NES Collectors Site
« on: March 11, 2011, 09:05:52 PM »
Thought I'd be a bit cheeky and throw in a bit of self promotion!  I recently launched a website based solely around the UK NES market from yesteryear.  It's aim to compile a comprehensive database, reviews for every UK released games as well as numerous interviews from devs and various articles.  Quite proud of what I've achieved so far and it's an ongoing project so would love to hear any comments:

http://www.nes-bit.com/

I should add I'm in no way a web designer and pretty much built this on my own.  Pretty pleased with what I managed and there's a good 60 or so reviews I wrote myself to boost content not to mention the numerous articles I've done.  If that doesn't wet your appetite I did recently interview Ste Pickford of Zippo Games and Rare fame recently.

Proud to say we have a major plus to the site today, a developer interview with Sivak Games.  The guys behind the home brew release Battle Kid and a few tid bits on it's sequel.  Also take a deeper look into what's involved in programming for the NES:

Currently in the middle of publishing a NES magazine and RCM have happily agreed to show an ad. Happy to do what I can to get the word out there :)

I know a few of you have been looking forward to this but Issue 2 has finally been announced:

For those thinking the text in the left column is the articles... not this time. Just easy place holders to fill the space!

So far the team have started on several articles and some highlights include:

Religion in NES games
Castlevania (Cover) Special - A look at the NES series and some of its unique stand out points
Big Dan's Cheat Section makes a return
A look at some of the NES's Shooters
8bit wars - Classic systems go head to head
Zelda Special
Japanese Import Special
And much, much more

It will be available as a PDF like the last issue with some printed copies being available at a later date eventually as well.

Suggestions for articles are always welcome.

What can you do to help? We are open to new writers and hope even more people will get involved. So drop me a line or stop by the site.
