Uber BBC Master 128
« on: May 20, 2009, 12:52:52 PM »
Hi,

I'm intending to bring my Uber BBC Master 128 (specs below) to the open day, though whether it gets used is of course at the discretion of AndyRCM and the organisers.

It has a 180Mb hard drive that quite frankly makes the MOS wet itself. I've got around 40 games on there already, taking up a mere 3 Mb of disk, so there's plenty of room for more.

Assuming the machine does get a spot, if anyone has any game requests to be loaded onto this machine, let me know in advance and I'll get them installed.

The machine is fitted with a 3Mhz 65C102 Co-Processor (Tube Elite anyone?), Econet module and 180Mb IDE hard drive. I also have a Music 500 synthesizer connected to it, but that probably won't be making an appearance. The MOS ROM has been upgraded with a Y2K fix, an IDE-supporting ADFS and a bugfixed DFS.

Any requests?

I was kinda joking, given that this is a super-duper powerful piece of kit that can run stuff that a regular Beeb can't... I'm sure there will be other inferior Beebs at the event that can run Chuckie Egg and you can demonstrate something a little more spectacular on your system!

Well, I have Elite (both M128 and "Executive" tube versions)
Stryker's Run (M128 Enhanced)
Repton 3 (and sequels) (M128 Enhanced, though in reality this just means you can flip between game and editor by pressing BREAK)
Vertigo (M128 Enhanced - 4-colour MODE 1 instead of 2-colour MODE 4!)

Plus anything else you want added....

A travesty has been corrected.

I powered up the M128 to check Elite was present.... and it wasn't!!!

This heinous crime against humanity has now been corrected, and I shall flog and flail myself forthwith.
